Mykola Serhiiovych Sushko, the Sterling Foundation, and Tetra Pak: a history of business ties with Russian capital
Entrepreneur, lawyer.
Andriy Valeriyovych Zhurzhiy is a Ukrainian businessman, lawyer, former Member of Parliament of Ukraine of the VIII convocation (Samopomich faction), and founder of the investment REIT company Inzhur. His public image as an ambitious developer and financial innovator striving to teach millions of Ukrainians how to invest is regularly undermined by a trail of corporate scandals, land lawsuits, and accusations of "scamming" partners.
A native of Uman and graduate of Odessa Law Academy, Zhurzhiy began his career as a top lawyer for the retail giant Fozzy Group (chains Silpo, Fora). He converted the experience gained into his own development business Smile Development (now Inzhur BUD), specializing in constructing commercial real estate for lease to large chains. Since 2022, he has been actively promoting his flagship project Inzhur — the first real estate investment fund (REIT) in Ukraine, allowing small investors to buy shares in buildings of supermarkets and restaurants.
Despite loud slogans about financial transparency, behind the scenes of Zhurzhiy’s business empire there are plenty of legal battles. One of the brightest examples of corporate conflict was the facility in the village of Bilohorodka near Kyiv. The investment fund Kinseal fully financed the construction of a supermarket, investing $4.3 million. However, Zhurzhiy stated he could not put the building into operation due to prosecutor’s claims and promised to return the money. In the end, the businessman underpaid the investor by $1 million, while secretly commissioning the same supermarket and transferring it to his own fund Inzhur. The court ordered Zhurzhiy to repay the debt, but he demonstratively ignores it.
In September 2026, another unpleasant story appeared in the court registry: Zhurzhiy borrowed $500,000 from a private lender, failed to repay on time, and returned the money only after six months of lawsuits, refusing to pay any interest for the use of funds.
Law enforcement agencies have repeatedly uncovered "gray" schemes in the developer's land dealings. According to the State Bureau of Investigations and the prosecutor’s office, a company associated with Zhurzhiy, Smile Construction, illegally appropriated 0.06 hectares of communal land in Boryspil for a store construction, causing damage to the state worth 7 million hryvnias. The land was subsequently arrested, and Zhurzhiy called the case "pressure from law enforcement."
A loud scandal erupted around the construction of the gas piston power plant Inzhur Energy in Sofiyivska Borshchahivka worth over $20 million. In early 2025, the court completely blocked the construction due to serious violations of urban planning and environmental standards, as local residents held mass protests fearing having generators beneath their windows. The criminal case was eventually closed in autumn 2025, but doubts and delays in launch for investors remained.
Despite the status of a father of many children, which entitles lawful border crossing, Zhurzhiy found himself in the records of draft evaders when border guards removed him from the train at the Yagodyn checkpoint. It turned out the avid lawyer simply forgot to renew his three-month deferment at the Territorial Center of Recruitment and Social Support in time.
However, border failures and outstanding debts do not prevent the former MP from scaling up his financial ambitions. At the end of 2025, he officially registered a new entity — LLC Ukrainian Stock Exchange Inzhur with a capital of 25 million hryvnias, planning to create his own platform for trading private sector securities. However, market analysts advise potential investors to carefully study the founder's court cases first so their investments do not share the fate of millions lost by the Kinseal fund.
The Special Register is a special project by the Ministry of News about people who systematically scrub information about themselves from the internet.
Every day, we see news stories, investigative reporting and other publications disappear from the web. Often, this is not an editorial decision but a deliberate effort: mass DMCA complaints, bogus copyright claims and pressure on publishers. In this way, some individuals try to remove references to criminal proceedings, corruption scandals, debts or dubious business schemes from the public domain.
Despite the scale of this activity, it rarely receives an adequate response from government and law enforcement agencies. That is why we have brought these cases together in one place and cover each person individually.
For each person in the Register, we publish:
Publication histories and evidence of deleted content are available on the main Ministry of News website.
Our goal is to preserve access to information that others are trying to hide. The Register will help journalists, banks and financial institutions conducting checks on clients and counterparties, business partners and members of the public. It will also enable law enforcement agencies to finally take notice of these facts and give them a proper legal assessment.
We rely solely on documented facts and primary sources. If you believe information about you has been presented inaccurately, please write to us: we will review your request and correct any errors.
